Description

This collection is carefully calibrated NOT to coordinate but to give you fabric for a time period collection. In spite of this, you might find they are useful and DO work for a project. The idea of fabric collections that we see today is a modern invention and began in the 1980’s. Contemporary fat quarter bundles are all engineered to work together. They are limited to the colors and number of fabrics that maximize efficient manufacturing and as such the sets are homogenized. This would not be a 19th century quilter’s experience. I have chosen these fabrics to be useful, to assist you in finishing cross-stitch pieces (pin pillows, drums, needlebooks), patch work piecing, English paper piecing and applique projects. They are designed to give you an authentic look and a proximate experience that related to the time period on the label. I have given thought to what actually would have been in a scrap bag. The sets each contain a mix of prints in a variety of scale, shades and density of design. Because of the nature of the fabric industry, the sets contain new and collectible out of print fabrics to help you begin or add to your 19th Century fabric collection.
