Susan Standley Stitch in Time is a studio where history and textiles meet!
My love of textiles began at the age of four and has continued throughout my life. I have studied and collected antique quilts, samplers, textiles and sewing notions with the purpose of re-interpreting them using modern tools and materials. My particular interest rests in the work of the 18th and 19th century. I find value and meaning in reinterpreting antique textiles.
I have worked and taught in several quilt shops and have served on the Arizona Quilt Studies Documentation Team. My knowledge of all these realms has allowed me to explore comparisons that I find valuable when reinterpreting an antique.
I have a Floss Tube channel on YouTube called “Susan Standley Stitch in Time” where I inform and encourage you on your textile journey.
My home is in the beautiful Pacific Northwest where I am surrounded by green trees and water! It is a serene environment full of inspiration!
